A tip of the hat and appreciation of the classic rock heavyweights that came before them, The Lad Classic create a sound that is nonetheless their own. With Paul Stevens delivering a wide range of in-your-face vocals, the heavy boom from Josiah Whitney on drums, the rumble of Tyson Hiseler’s bass, along with the intricate, explosive guitar of Ben Healey, this band has created a sound and energy that makes you look up and take notice.
In a relatively short amount of time, The Lad Classic has formed a dedicated and expanding fan base while touring throughout southern Ontario and Atlantic Canada. The release of ‘Lighting’; an acoustic version of their debut EP intended to introduce the band and songs to the public. This EP would garner a number of positive reviews along with college radio play and a finalist award for the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for the track “Blow Out”.
This was followed by the release of the anticipated electric version ‘Thunder’ with producer Damon de Szegheo (Serena Ryder, Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch, Craig Cardiff). A sold-out release show crowd and raving international reviews only further proved that this is a band with large appeal and potential.
The album ‘Thunder’ produced the lead single and video for “Cadillac Jack“, receiving play on rock radio across Canada and in parts of the U.S., UK and Europe. With that, the band have begun to elevate to a new level with appearances on Sirius XM’s Humble and Fred show, as well as opening for bands like One Bad Son (604 Records), The Motorleague (Sonic/Warner), The Beaches, K.I.D and performing at Big Music Fest with the likes of Big Sugar, Aerosmith and Slash.
The Lad Classic are currently in the studio recording their debut full length release complete with a full throttle, energy packed punch of songs fusing old school classic rock and blues with modern influences destined to wear out the repeat button.
